 Dr.
Jonathan Silverman attended the University of Maryland at College Park where
he majored in Chemistry. He received his D.D.S. degree from the Baltimore College
of Dental Surgery, University of Maryland at Baltimore in 1984.
He then began his pursuit of advanced dental education.
He spent a full year in an Advanced General Dentistry Internship at the University
of Maryland where he learned to treat more complex and advanced cases and handle
more complicated dental situations.
Dr. Silverman has been in the private practice of dentistry
since 1985. With 23 years of experience treating patients, he is uniquely qualified
to handle your most challenging dental problems.
Dr. Silverman lives in Owings Mills with his wife Catherine,
a school nurse, and his daughters, Laura and
Jessica.
Dr. Silverman continually attends advanced education
courses to maintain and expand his knowledge and ability. Staying on the leading
edge of dentistry, his level of commitment to education far exceeds the requirements
set fourth by the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners.
Professional Awards:
Throughout the last 23 years Dr. Silverman has immersed
himself in Dental Continuing Education. In 2003 he was recognized by the Academy
of General Dentistry and awarded Fellowship
in the Academy of General Dentistry. This represented over 500 hours
of continuing education and passing of a challenging all day examination in
all phases of General Dentistry. This honor is bestowed on only 130 dentists
in the State of Maryland.
Dr. Silverman has continued his quest to bring only the
finest care to his patients and in 2008 was awarded Mastership
in the Academy of General Dentistry. This represents an additional 600
hours of Continuing Education over and above Fellowship for a total of 1100
hours of Continuing Education. For Mastership the Continuing Education hours
must be in the form of at least 400 hours of participation courses spread over
all 11 disciplines of General Dentistry. Only 1% of all dentists nationwide
have achieved this award.
In addition the Academy of General Dentistry Accolades,
Dr. Silverman has become and Fellow
of the International College of Oral Implantologists. This is an organization
that represents dentists who place and restore dental implants throughout the
world. He has in recent years focused is dental continuing education on dental
implants and the significant challenges that they represent. He feels that dental
implant represent a quantum leap in the treatment of missing teeth and wanted
to be one of the first general dentists in the area to offer complete dental
implant services to his patients.

Dr. Silverman is an avid road bicyclist riding 5-6 days
per week when the weather and the daylight permit. He likes long bicycle rides
of 40 or more miles and frequently participates in bicycle rides for charitable
causes.
He also enjoys skiing, tinkering with computers, but
his fondest joy is spending time with his family.

Catherine Silverman. I am a Registered Nurse and the Office Manager for this practice. My nursing degree is from University of Maryland. I currently work as a school nurse at Sacred Heart in Glyndon on Mondays where our children attend. I volunteer in the community as a Girls Scout Leader, which I thoroughly enjoy. I am the Doctor's biggest fan! We have been married for 18 years.
