Dental Crowns in Owings Mills, MD

Dental Crowns: An Overview

Is your smile spoiled by a chipped or broken tooth? A dental crown, also called a tooth cap, can leave you smiling from ear to ear. A crown may be recommended to replace a natural tooth for many reasons, including restorative and cosmetic dental problems.

Dr. Jonathan Silverman is ready to restore the health and appearance of your smile. With over 25 years of experience and a state-of-the-art office, Dr. Silverman can fit you with a long-lasting restoration that will enhance your natural smile.

A dental crown can replace a broken tooth, or one that’s cracked, damaged, misshapen, discolored, or filled with decay. A crown can fix a gap between your teeth, strengthen a tooth after a root canal, or support a dental bridge.

What to Expect

The dental crown process takes a couple of office visits. Dr. Silverman will prepare your tooth on your first visit. He will take impressions for a custom fit and color matched crown. Although a variety of materials such as porcelain, glass, or gold alloy can be used, he often recommends high-quality ceramics for durable, high-quality results.

After the new crown is finished, Dr. Silverman will permanently secure it to your tooth. He will adjust and polish it for a comfortable bite and natural luster that will blend with your existing teeth. With proper dental care and good oral hygiene, your new crown will last for years to come.
